WHO ARE WE?
Welcome to the DelGiudice Vocal Arts Academy, DVAA (formerly
Operatunity). We are thrilled to offer another year of spectacular
private lessons, classes, master classes, our annual opera production,
concerts and our “NEW” exciting international summer
opera program in Italy! Our faculty continues to grow with the
addition of many internationally recognized coaches, conductors
and directors who hail from many of the countries most prestigious
conservatories and theaters. Our focus continues to be on the
healthy vocal development of the young musician and providing
the training necessary for a well - rounded musical education
for their future.
DelGiudice Vocal Arts Academy has a wonderful 2009 – 2010
season planned. Our conservatory level Big Voices Performance
Choir and Preparatory Choir will culminate in a new 2010 children’s
opera production of Massanet’s opera Cinderella in a family
friendly abridged version with chamber orchestra. Our beloved “Holiday
concert” and “Evening of Song” will also bring
a smile to everyone’s faces!
This year will bring a number of performance and master class
field trips. We will be visiting DiCapo Opera Theater in New
York City to see Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” being
hosted by Artistic Director Michael Capasso in a master class
for our students as well. The fall New England touring production
of Verdi’s “Rigoletto” will also be available
to DVAA students in the Hanover Theater in Worchester. Many of
the leads will be sung by DelGiudice students who are now professional
Young Artists at DiCapo Opera Theater.
SUMMER IN ITALY!! The DelGiudice Vocal Arts Academy will host
students in the 2010 Summer Tuscia Opera festival in Viterbo
Italy. 3 and 4 week high school and college programs are available
for students who wish to study voice, language, art song classes,
coaching and master classes as well as evening concerts and a

OUR HISTORY OF OUTREACH
From 1997, OperaTunity Outreach housed a needs based scholarship
program in vocal arts training, offering a holistically interactive
performance experience that is tailored to suit the individual
needs and talents of each student. Students were selected on
teacher recommendation and through audition. Operatunity Outreach
strived to expose its young performers to classical music through
training in music theory, performance choir, theater arts, and
performance opportunites in full-scale operatic productions,
alongside internationally and nationally known directors and
musicians. Through structure and self -esteem building, a student’s
academic skills are greatly enhanced through the use of music
reading and rhythmic study as well as memory work leading each
student's independent future.
Founded in 1997 by Artistic Director, and Internationally renowned
operatic soprano Andrea DelGiudice, Operatunity housed a youth
opera/theater program providing access to the world of opera
to students and families across the metro south region through
music and theater arts educational enrichment programs and public
performances.
