Andrea hails from Europe and New York City where she flourished in an international opera career. She has been seen throughout England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and Italy in the title roles in Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, Cavalleria Rusticana, Otello, I Pagliacci, and the Tales of Hoffman alongside such international artists as Placido Domingo, Johan Botha, Sherill Milnes, and Nicolai Martinucci. National and international venues include Edmonton Opera, Munich State Opera, Scottish National Opera, Belfast Opera, Opera Bonn under the direction of Gian Carlo Delmonaco, RAI Television in Rome Italy, Austin Lyric Opera, DiCapo Opera Theater, Arizona Opera, and Orlando Opera. Andrea is a frequent concert soloist at Jordan Hall as well as WGBH’s “Morning Classics” in Boston in collaboration with international conductor and clarinetist; Jonathan Cohler in seldom performed works such as Simon Sargon’s “Shema”. The most recent performance was the 2005 Brockton Symphony Orchestra’s All Strauss Concert in her “exquisite performance” of the “Four Last Songs”. Miss DelGiudice’s new CD “Live Performances” has recently been released. Andrea’s diverse talents led to numerous recording contracts in Rome, Italy including feature film recordings for Walt Disney/Buena Vista, RAI television, and featured soloist in Robert Redford’s Sundance Films with Italian composer Riz Ortolani. As a gifted voice teacher, Andrea’s diverse knowledge of the operatic and musical theater repertoire is responsible for her successful private voice studio in the Boston area. The studio consists of both Professional opera singers and those in the musical theater field, many of whom are currently in New York City on Broadway National Tours as well as NYU, Oklahoma City University, Mannes School of Music, Marymount Manhattan, and Boston University, to name a few. Ms. DelGiudice currently serves as Founder, Artistic and Music Director of the Operatunity Performing Arts Center in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Operatunity offers qualified instruction in the three disciplines of the arts to youth and community members with a focus in classical study. Operatunity’s annual opera production combines professional artists with children in full-scale opera productions with the local symphony as part of a full season of performances. Operatunity Outreach offers training in vocal arts and scholarship opportunities for children in need. She is also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and a member of the Voice Faculty at Salem State College. Andrea also served as Music Director at Stonehill College, Buckley Performing Arts Center and the Wang Center’s Suskind Young at Arts in Boston. Miss DelGiudice is also an accomplished pianist. |
